    day he came to the landlord's office to pay it.
    There were not many disturbances betweenthe landlord and tenants around here, for the people are very quiet, and instead of quarrelling they tried to pacify the landlord by paying the rents and giving him the tithes he demanded, and helping his with his work when he called on them. In fact they were slaves to him, and they dreaded some of the agents more than the landlord himself.
