    famous at the age of 12. The Tailtean games were being held at Tara. The witch - the foster mother - took him there to take part in the games. He proved himself superior to all the other youths in running and jumping.
    The games lasted a week and always finished up with a hurling match. The victors of the various games were chosen to play the hurling match on the last day of the games. Fionn was among the number.
    The match began, Fionn was placed by his side in the goal. Each time the ball came to him, he drove it the length of the field out the opposite goal, so Fionn's side was winning every time. The
