The night that the late Marquis died his brother Lord William heard a motor car come up the avenue in Georgestown till it stopped at the hall door.No one saw the car and the house bells began to ring violently and could not be stopped till Lord William got up and succeeded in doing so.
There was once a Marquis of Waterford who prevented poor people from getting water in his well. His statue is to be seen in Clonegam church with his tongue protruding because he died of thirst which no drink could quench.
