TUBBERSOOL (Eye Well)
In vicinity of Balscadden. Well in centre of orchard. Whitethorn bush over well.Local tradition - Cromwell when visiting Gormanston Castle, came to this well and profaned it by washing his feet in it. He also allowed his horses to pollute well. The well dried up and remained so for many years. A priest visited well later and blessed it. The water returned, and now it is always overflowing.Water used for eye troubles.
