- (continued from previous page)2 To cure sprains, gather the seeds of the flower called Marsh Mallow. When rolled out, mix with starch and put into a box. Let it remain there for some time before using as an ointment. 3 For chapped lips or hands use the cream of milk. 4 Salty water rubbed into a cut or wound while saying the "Our Father" "Hail Mary" and "Glory be to the Father" heals the wound or cut. 5 If you have a Pimple or a gathering on your face, hold a hot potatoe to it. It is said to draw the soreness out.6 To cure Whooping Cough, get a slice of bread, make into crumbs and give it to a donkey and let him eat it, and the crumbs that fall from his mouth gather and stew them with milk and give them to the person with the Whooping Cough.7 Any married woman whose name is Mary, can cure sore eyes, if she rubs her wedding ring on the person whose eyes are sore, saying "In the name of the Father etc."8 Any woman who does not change her surname in marraige and who gives a piece of wheaten bread baked(continues on next page)
