    not believe he was the best marksman in the world if he could not split the egg exactly in the centre. James knew himself that this was a very hard thing to do but anyway he tried it. So he went back ten yards and took a very good aim, "hiss" went the arrow and the egg went to the ground in two halves. "Very, very good" says the father. "I wonder can Patrick beat that". "Now" he said to Patrick, "I shall not believe that you are the best carpenter in the whole world if you do not put that egg together, and it must be the same as before it was broken". So Patrick did his best and put the egg together again and you would think it was never broken.
    When the farmer saw this he was as bad as ever for one of his sons was as good
