- Herbs are very common around here and some people make cures out of them and use them for different things.
Some herbs I know are dandelion, dock, nettle, colts foot, convolvulus, bog bean, ivy, and germander speedwell.
Dandelions can take off warts by rubbing the juice of the dandelion on the wart each day. Dandelions when boiled can make more cures but I do not know what they are. Then the dock can cure a sting of a nettle by rubbing the dock leaf on the place where it is stung.
Nettles made into soup bring out the rash for measles and they can also be made into soup for cleaning your blood.
Bog bean is a weed gathered at the lough and boiled and is given as a medicine for cleaning blood and it can be used for other things to.
Ivy is a cure for corns and it can be chopped up and put along with black soap and rubbed on the corn.
Cancer can be cured by a flower called dog daisy.
Broom boiled and drunk is used for a cure when people have kidney troubles. Then the tormentil is used for curing diarrahoea(continues on next page)- Collector
