    Now, Monellan isn't much of a place now, but you should have seen it in my young days where there was upwards of fifty men employed in it. They kept three men full-time trimming & repairing & cleaning the avenues & a small boy to brush up after them. Woe to the man who'd have dared to break as much as a twing that size in them days & soon there won't be a twig that size left. It was Rev. Robert Delap was the owner then but wasn't the first of that name. No, they are not long here altogether. I was a gardener as a young man in Roberts time & he often told me
