    A few evenings ago I paid a visit to the house of the above named lady. She showed me a stone and asked me to observe it carefully.

    A few evenings ago I paid a visit to the house of the above named lady [Miss Jane Loughrey].
    She showed me a stone and asked me to observe it carefully. It was shaped like a brick, but was longer and larger. The year 1786 was engraved on it. To each side of the date were initials. These were not so clear as the evening was dark and it was fairly late.
    This stone is treasured and is kept carefully in the room.
