    Till the lights they all went out
    The morning dawned_close to the land.
    He speid a boat and crew;
    It raised his heart to see them come
    As he knew, to his rescue.
    They hauled him in, wet to the skin,
    Saying "Where are the nineteen more?"
    The ocean wave rolls oe'r their grave
    On the banks of Arranmore.
    Their parents and relations,
    Were almost past control;
    Their neighbours and acquaintances
    With the sorrowing did console
    We pray the Lord will comfort them -
    His Good Name we adore -
    For the loss of dear ones is bewailed
    Throughout all Arranmore
