  1. Cures
    There are quacks and bone - setters known to the people of the district who have cures for ailments, hurts and diseases.
    The seventh son has a cure for ring - worm. This is a disease which grows in the form of a ring, and it usually appears on the head. The hair falls off and the skin rots away.
    There is a man named O Malley living in Newport who has the cure for ring - worm. He cured a boy in the district after he had spent a while in the hospital in Castlebar and sent home because the doctors could not cure him.
