- One night a man was coming home from town. He had an ass and a bag of flour on the ass. As he was coming along the road he thought he could feel somebody on the ass behind him though he could not see him. He heard somebody saying before that if you look out between the asse's lugs you will see any unearthly thing that is about. He did so but he could not see no one. He tried to make the ass go. But when he left his hand on the ass he found the poor thing was wet with sweat. He forced the ass to go and at last when he did so when he went home he ran into the barn and lay down. He started to roar. When ever the ass past that part of the road he used to stop and look in.
