    The landlord of this locality was Lord Clonbrock. He and his family lived in this district for about two centuries. He was a good landlord and very charitable. There were no evictions in his time. When he was selling the land he sold it for his tenants only. If the people did not pay the rent to him he would evict them. There was a landlord by the name of John Blake and he was very bad. One day a man asked him for the price of a bag of flour. The landlord turned to
