  1. My home district
I live in the townland of Fahy. It is situated in the townland of fahy and the barony of Longford.
There are about twenty houses in it about half of them are thatched.
There were more houses long ago because there are several ruins here and there in the townland. Most of the inhabitants emigrated to America soon after the famine.
Madden is the most common name and Mrs. Madden is the oldest person in the district. She is the grandmother of one of the schoolboys.
About seventy people now live there. The townland gets it's name from a big green level plain and it's lands are fertile and good.
