  1. In the district of Loughrea there are many old local roads, but the principal one are, Galway road, Gort road, and the Dublin road.
    The Galway road leads to Athenry, Galway and Tuan, and the Dublin road leads to Ballinasloe, Athlone, Mullingar and Dublin. The Gort road leads to Limerick, to Ennis and to Gort. All of these roads are made over a century, but are newly tarred and steam-rolled for the last few years.
