    The oaten meal was made locally grind stones and querns were used, some of the grind stones are still to be found in the country.
    Potato cake and Boxty Bread are still made in the country.
    Potato cake is made with boiled potatoes and flour. The flour and potatoes are mixed and cooked on a pan.
    Boxty Bread is made with raw potatoes and flour.
    Disused grindstones are to be found in Moneen, Kinlough, and New Island, Laughta.
