    in picturesque spot near hand the shores of Lough Melvin.
    This fair of Mogue consisted in about five or six hundred tents along the road side and they extended for about one mile. Traders from all over the country came to attend this, then famous, fair of Mogue. All kinds of things were traded with at this fair. It is called after Saint Mogue, and has it's origin in the time of St. Mogue also.
    First it was a very holy gathering then it turned into a great place for music and sports and finally it turned out to be one of the greatest trading centres in all Ireland. Young and old came in crowds to attend the fair of Mogue - trading men of every descriptions, Athletes, Musicians and Gamblers of all sorts. Unfortunately the fair turned out to be a famous place for drinking and party fights and setteling up old spleens and because of this abuse it was stopped altogether. The
