If the sun is very red at sunset in summer it is a sign of great heat.
A mist in the bog in the evening or at nightfall is a sign of good weather.
Cobwebs on the hawthorn in the early summer morning means a good sunny day.
Red clouds in the west at sunset means windy weather.
When the mountain seems distant, and of a misty blue it will be fine - but if near and dark or purple it means rain.
Noise in the distant waterfall is rain.
Swallows flying high means good weather but if flying low - sweeping the ground it will rain.
Frogs croaking in the bog hole means rain, crickets chirping shrilly is a sign of rain.
Flocks of crows flying low, setting on the hillside and cawing is a sign of storm.
