  1. If anyone had a sty on their eye they would measure it with a gooseberry thorn.
    If anyone had a headache they would measure it with a bit of straw.
    If you had a wart on your hand and if you come to well of water on a stone you would be cured.
    If anyone had a wart on their hand they would put a snail on top of it and shake salt on it.
    These cures were told by Mrs. Daly aged 73 years who in Monivea Co. Galway. Collected by Annie Burke Monivea N.S.
