There is an old hill in the village of Ballyskea and it was called Biddey Earls hill, the reason it was called that is because there was an old woman living in it, she had an old house under the ground she was miserly, but she had a lot of money buried in the ground, she used to be spinning thread and when the people used to go for it, she would not let them in because she used to say that they would see all the money she had, it is said that there is a lot of money buried on top of this hill.
