  1. There was Mass said in Effernaugh County Leitrim. I was said in a field of Patrick Gralton's Effernaugh Kilclare. The stone on which Mass was said is still in the field. It was Father Moran who said Mass there. The soldiers were after him and they would get five pounds for his head. They did not catch him and it is said that he left the country.
