    Some time ago in the middle of the last century...

    Some time ago in the middle of the last century as workmen were digging the foundation of a house in Dromerin farm convenient to and by the ditch of a fort which still can be seem by any one acquainted with the locality. As the work proceeded and when digging the end foundation next to the fort. They came upon what appeared to be an arch built of brick but did not interfere with it. As it was in the ditch of the fort which was a mound of earth of unusual dimensions. They did not take any great notice of it and soon forgot the incident Time rolled on and all about the arch was forgotten. Until one night an old woman called to a certain house in the town the townland and asked for a night lodgings which was not an unusual occurence and got permission to stay the night.
