About sixty-five years ago there was a school held in Gurtcreen near Scortlea cross.

    (continued from previous page)
a large flat stone indicated to the dreams in his dream. When one of the men getting excited jumped into the opening striking against the spademan in his excitement whose spade shifted off the flag. Thereby causing them to lose them their hidden treasure. As he was supposed to hold the iron on the stone until the treasure was recovered. Then foregoing is a true tale even a few men still living who can recall the event. To this day this opening can be seen within a short distance of Dromerin House.
