  1. A good many years ago there was a man who lived on the mountain side west of Dingle. He had a nice tidy house and a small farm, he kept two or three cows. His wife and his mother lived with him. He was a strong able man and a good workman.
    He had one great fault; he was very fond of playing cards at night and often went five miles away from home. One night he was out playing very late at a farmer's house, a good distance away from home. They were playing long after twelve o'clock and the farmer said it was time to go home now.
    Seán got his stick and fastened his cap on his head and off he walked towards his own home. About half way home there was a church or a burial ground on the roadside. There was a high wall between it and the road. When Seán came there he heard
