    In Knockane in Con Daly's farm there is a field, which is called the fort field. There are three rings surrounding it and it is said to be the swelling place of some ancient Irish Kings. In the centre of the field there is a deep hole. During the great war it is said that the Black and Tans used descend into the hole to escape from the threats of the people. it is said that
