    Mattery Sore
    A man named Michael Sugrue a teacher who lived at Gleanagalough used to make a plaster for a mattery sore. This was made from razin and pitch and soap and linseed oil and elm bark. These were all boiled down and let set.

    Ringworm
    A woman called Mrs Twish who lived near Tralee, cures ringworm. She makes some bottle for it.

    Sore Eyes
    The Scarlet Pimpernel was a cure for sore eyes. It grows in potato-gardens.

    Corns
    Penny leaves grow on stony fences and a great cure for corns.

    Boils
    To banish boils a root called Meacan na hAbann was picked from marshy places or near a river. When the herb was
