- Get a drop of olive-oil and a piece of wadding. Put the olive-oil upon the wadding and put it into the ear and the pain will go away. Every one does this around here for a pain in the ear.
- Get a Gooseberry thorn. Point it at the sty three times. Then make the sign of the cross and throw the thorn over your right shoulder and do not look for the thorn. You have only to do this once to cure the sty. My Father told me this cure and I did it and it cured the sty.
