Any thing was never seen at early hours but if a person being out alone at a late hour without business often told of peculiar things being seen and heard. Sounds of dishes were often heard and lights have been seen but the people who saw them would soon get ill and die.
- There are a lot of fairy forts in this district. They are commonly known in this district by the name of liss but some people call them rings.
There is a fort in the townland of Pike and there are two in Lettergorman. Each one can be seen from the other. All the forts are circular in shape. There is a fence of earth around each.
There is an entrance hole in the centre of the fort. Some time ago two men went down the hole of the fort and took a lamp with them but when they went down a part of the way the lamp quenched and they had to come back. - Collector
