   I have not praised that river
   But I wished you all had seen
   You would pick it as a favourite
   From that beautious home Tureen

   The rich and fertile borders

   While around the road our rebel boy's
   Played patrick's band of Lyre
   It is they that played some Irish tunes
   That Ireland should be free
   And the beautious scene in Cork
   Is the river Gleann Dá Fhiadach

   As it was when I was there
   When I heard the bells of Shandon
   Sending echo to Banteer
   And all along Duhallows plains
   That seem so fair to me
   So until memories cease
   I'll sing the praise of the river Gleann Dá Fhiadach
