    While around the road our rebel boy's
    Played patrick's band of Lyre
    It is they that played some Irish tunes
    That Ireland should be free
    And the beautious scene in Cork
    Is the river Gleann Dá Fhiadach

    As it was when I was there
    When I heard the bells of Shandon
    Sending echo to Banteer
    And all along Duhallows plains
    That seem so fair to me
    So until memories cease
    I'll sing the praise of the river Gleann Dá Fhiadach
