  1. Tommie Connor was a very amusing man of the tramp class. There are many good yarns about him.
    One day a woman in Furroor gave him a piece of currant cake and he afterwards said that he found a currant at Furroor Cross and the next one at Cranny Bridge.
    In Cree one morning he was collecting the price of a pint of porter. He had two pence but it seemed rather difficult to get the halfpenny. At last Tommie told a woman he would in exchange for a halfpenny teach her a nice prayer. She gave it to him and he
