  1. Napper Tandy is supposed to be born in Lisdornan house where later on he was confined a prisoner by the Yeomen. When he died he was buried in the Protestant Churchyard of Julianstown where his tomb is now to be seen.

Patrick Sarsfield our great Irish Warrior was a native of Sarsfieldstown which lies between Gormanston and Julianstown. Previous to 1690 he was driven from his lands and he remained around the place as a Rapparee. When King James was going to the Battle of the Boyne, Patrick joined his army and fought with him. From that he went to Limerick where he took command of the troops. He died on the 23rd July 1693. The house where he was born stood somewhere near the present house in Elmgrove.
