  1. During the plan of campaign Lord Gormanston was evicting the people because they would not pay the rent. Fanny Parnell held a meeting at Gormanstown to urge the people to pay no rent and to keep the harvest. Thomas Tiernan of Gormanstown would not pay the rent and the police came to evict him. Father Tuite kept his hand on the door and it could not be broken in. The people inside begged him to let go the door, he let it go and the police got in and took the house.
