  1. One night a man from this part of the country was coming from his ceilidhe. He was never afraid at night. When he was coming along the road inside the ditch he heard a moan. He stood up to listen to it and a crowd of men and women came out laughing and walked over the road before him. He walked as quickly as he could but he never could get any nearer to them. They kept before him until he turned up his own lane and he was hardly able to walk up stairs to bed when he went home. The man is a long time dead now. He was a man named
