    This is an account of all the riddles I have heard in the district . My grannie knows them all, and she told me most of them, she says she heard them from her own mother.
    Riddle me riddle me randy row my father gave me seed to sow, seed were black and the ground was white, riddle me that again tomorrow night.
    "Ink and Paper"
    A dog and a bitch jumped over the ditch, which was the bitches name. "Which".
    Why does a hen cross the road.
    "To get to the other side".
    If you got up off an ass, what would you get down off of. "A goose".
    Why does a cow look over the ditch.
    "Because she cannot look under it".
