  1. The place long ago was remarked for all sorts of industry but it is very few that are carried on now.
    I'll give an account of all I know.
    In years gone by mud turners were made and sold to people who had farms or big gardens.
    All sorts of forge work was done such as gate making, fire cranes and many such like.
    When tobacco was scarce and was hard to get the old people used to twist the leaves into tobacco and sell it. It was made in a place now a malt house belonging to the late Mr. Nunn.
    Oaten meal and flower were also ground in both Larries mill and Nunns mill.
    It is not ground now but it is sold in Nunns mill still.
