    One day going to Youghal for not much of a load, I met a young couple on Youghal strand road...

    One day going to Youghal for not much of a load,
    I met a young couple on Youghal Strand road
    One was named Mitchel, the other named Swift
    Montayne he passed them and offered no lift
    One was a female, the other a male
    She was so rosy and he was so pale.

    By walking I asked them to Youghal one day
    They told me that Montayne had gone Tallow way
    And after some chatting I bid them adieu
    And I met Montague's lorry coming out at Reincrew
    Montayne was driving and not very slow
    And what happened afterwards sure I don't know.

    So into Youghal I wended
