    sheep for fear o' the lightning. The rain came down like it was poured out of a bucket. All the places around the Crossroads was flooded. The flood took away part of the barracks and all the people living at the Cross had to got upstairs. The flood was everywhere. The bourne that's between the Church and the Chapel took away the Church wall. The sergeant was up at the school and couldn't get down and one of the policemen tried to cross the bourne with a bag of bread for the youngsters at the school. He was in to the waist when the sargent shouted to him for God's sake to go back. He did go back but came again some
