- The Fairies.About 5 years ago the in the townland of Killinagarnis parish Ennis lived in fear and dread from a incident which occured in the townland at that time. Annie Flynn a child of about 10 years of age was sent on a message to a house named Boles on a fine summer's evening after sunset.She did the message and returned home looking all right but the next day she got ill. She lay in a couch in a mud cabin. Her father and mother did all in their power in their own rough way to nourish and restore her to health. Yesterday by day she sank lower and got weaker until at the end of years she became as small as an infant. She also cross and very trouble some insulted every person who asked for her.on some occasions when neighbours asked her, she would answer in a little voice "Go home and mind your children," or "Go home and mind your cattle," In every case these people found sickness in their families and cattle dying in large numbers.They feared to speak of Annie Flynn's name although she was constantly in their minds for a weird enchantment hung over(continues on next page)
