- An céad lá de'n Earrach sé sin lá Fheile Brighde.This parish is dedicated to St. Brigid. The graveyard and the parish church is called after St. Brigid. In this parish long ago it was the custom to make crosses from straw or rushes. They also made "Girdles of St Brighid". The rush crosses are made in Donegal and Connemara and other isolated places. A female member of the house carries freshly pulled rushes into the house and comes to the door of the house where the people are eating their meal and knocks at the door and comes in.
