    As far as I can learn Father Ward was P.P. of Drumlease between the years 1789-1800...

    As far as I can learn Father Ward was P.P of Drumlease between the years of 1789-1800. The remains of the house were it is said he lived are to be seen yet, about 400yards from my house. It is said that Father Ward went bathing in Lough Gill a short distance from where he lived and was drowned.
    The parishioners had his remains interred in Carricktemple Graveyard. The graveyard is overlooking Lough Gill and is situated two miles to the N.W of Dromahair. The graveyard is in the townland of Shriff.
    The parishioners had great veneration for Father Ward and they wanted to have his remains in the parish and they doubted the friends would claim his remains they kept guard at Carricktemple graveyard for two days and two nights. About the third day the priests friends
