    The pay that I got was outside the dure
    Says I to myself "I'll go down to Redmoor.

    An' I trampin along as you may understand
    I passed by a forge it was on the left hand.
    He didn't came out his head and his face
    As round as a mast.
    There were teeth in his head like a brogue maker's last.
    He whistled and shouted and called me by name.
    Says I to myself I'll put up more steam.
    No hell-hound or "baygil" would ketch me I' sure
    I stopped to get win on the bridge of Redmoor
