    The next day the bare footed girl met the divil on the road and told him what she had done and how well it worked. The divil had the pair of boots for her and he threw them at her. "Here" says he, "you're after doing in five minutes what I couldn't do in ten years

    Long ago the tide used to come from Kilmore Quay to Baldwinstown. Kilmore is about four miles from Baldwinstown. There are a lot of signs that it did come up as far as that
