  1. Played on the road, esp on the foot-path when it had no grassy margin, and indoors on wet-days. Season. The Marble Season followed the Top Season - Save it was quite evident when it was at hand - all the hucksters displayed saucerfuls & trayfuls of the most alluring taws & marbles & 'claynees' at various prices. On the local school Realto a good glass taw commanded from 9 - 15 marbles or buttons - anxious days for mothers & micitín Coin's paradise! 1 white marble = 1 button

    Each player placed a bottom or a button (standing each) in the ring. First wan down first shot. The player who succeeds in knocking buttons or marbles out of the ring takes possession of it and has another shot The reward for hitting another player's taw was a button or marble, and another shot
    Sean & Tom have 'fired'& their respective taws take up positions indicated. It is Bill's turn. If he succeeds in shouting 'Brace & trackums,' before he is challenged he has the whole field to himself. He can fire at Tom or at the Ring or at both & if he scores he can fire at Seán or Bill (if he has not previously hit him) without coming back to Lines. If, however, he is challenged "Boy brace-which one you at?' He has to nominate but if he succeeds in
