    now good. I dont know how they managed
    in the end, I think they built the pump up abit
    farther, but the pump is there now anyway.
    There was a friend of ours coming home wan
    night from the Globe. He used to work there.
    When he was coming by the minster's Gate he
    heard the terrible crying near him.
    His son was dead only a few months and he
    thought it was his cry.
    He stood and listened and then he said "Is
    that you Jim", (that was the son's name) "if it's you
    talk to me." He got now answer, so he came
    along home.
    When he came to his own house ; at that time you know, they used to keep the fowl inside.
    The cock was on a roost just inside the
    door. The minute he went inside the cock flew
    down and landed on his shoulder and drew. The
    man was surprised, but he put the cock back
    on the roost again ; but in a minute he
    flapped his wings and flew down again and crew.
