    ordered them back to their box. "Now" said he to the man who was left, "You go back and tell the King what has happened to his soldiers and the same thing will happen to any number of soldiers he sends out here to bring me in by force." The soldier went back and reported what had happened to the King. The King then said he had made a mistake in sending out his soldiers but that he would now go himself and try to persuade him to come.
    The King with out and found Jack behind his box of army in the same place the soldiers had found him. The King apologised for having sent out his soldiers to bring him in by force. He now begged him to come. Jack said "I will go with you. If you had first come yourself I would have gone without any trouble. Now set off for the palace and you will go very fast or I will be there as soon as you." The King set
