They came to a small stream and the priest tipped over a briar, and Seán fired at him but it did him no harm. Then the pedlar shouted to the priest "An sgian, an sgian" Then the priest thought o the dagger and he flung it at Seán and it stuck in his neck. Seán told the pedlar to draw it out but the pedlar drove it farther in and killed him.
