A man named Hughes was shot dead in the street of Belcarra in the "Tithe War" in 1832. Mr. Richard Walshe T.D. however told me that he heard old people say that 6 men were killed.Transcribed by a member of our volunteer transcription project.

- Land League Belcarra and district was very active in the Land League times. It had a fife and Drum Band which was in great favour at Lamd League meetings in places like Ballyglass, Balla Carnacon and Coill-a-bhaile.
