Then he puts a split on the end of the stick with a pen-knife. Then the boy tied a piece of line to the bottom of the stick he twisted the line until he came to the split. Then he put the line in the split leaving about three inches of the line hanging loosely. Then he put a hook on the line and he put a worm on the hook and he went to the river.
