    II Sean being such a good wrestler, had therefore many enemies. One day, he was walking to Dublin with his bundle on his back. He saw at Kilcock people coming to attack him. They were flanked on all side - apart coming from Dublin and another following him from Mayo. The only means of escape was to jump the canal at Kilcock which was 22 feet wide. He had no alternative. He threw his bundle across and then jumped right across to the other side - the escaping his enemies. From that day he was never molested. The Leap is still called "The Connaught man's Leap." He was the greatest wrestler of his time.
    At another time he wanted to goto a dance. He had a blind piper with him. In order to get to the dance-house they both had to cross a river.
    The river was swollen- thus blocking the way. The piper was in distress, as he would be deprived of his little earnings. Sean told him to have courage. He rolled the pipes carefully in his (Sean's) coat and threw them across the river. Then Sean placed the piper at the river's edge, ordered him to go on his haunches - half sitting and half standing. Sean then stood back a little distance- ran, took a big jump and with his right arm encircling the piper the two did the jump and
