    are quite comfortable when one gets used to them. They are very dry and warm during Winter. Those who make them are called "cloggers".
    In days gone by in this place the men wore heavy woolen stockings going to the bog. No boots were worn. The sole was cut off and the uppers were used as a protection against the strong sun. Those class of stockings were called "treheens".
